Description
Rare Vintage Antique 75-Page Hardcover Book, AFRICA IN A NUTSHELL FOR THE MILLION; or, LIGHT ON THE "DARK CONTINENT.", measures approximately 4-3/8" x 6-1/8".  The author is George Thompson, a missionary to Africa, who was affiliated with Oberlin College.  The book was self-published in Oberlin by the author in 1886, and is a Third Edition.  It was written to provide a "Nutshell" view of Africa and the missionary work being undertaken on the continent.
A fold-out map is affixed inside the back cover showing the locations of known missions.
The Vintage Antique Book is in Fair/Good Condition, with wear and/or looseness in the spine likely due to many years of past use and/or storage.  Also noted for accuracy is a tear and a bit of paper loss on the first page near one of the binding staples.  Please see accompanying photographs.
