    Description

    This medicine container was purchased from a wealthy estate sale full of genuine antiquities. The owner was an avid collector and took great care to document the collection. See photos for hand written record complete with description and dimensions. This container is very old but no date was attributed. It was carved from a single piece of wood and primitively decorated. It was obviously made for personal use, not as a souvenir. Based on the patina and leather I would estimate the item is at least 200 years old and potentially much, much older.
