Antique gilded Thai temple painting of Buddha - framed and matted - prob 1800's

Description

Antique gilded Thai temple painting of Buddha and an acolyte - framed and matted in silk . There is a horizontal crease across the middle of this piece, which is typical of the paintings from temple manuscripts in19th Century Thailand. There is no signed name or date.
The dimensions of outer frame of the portrait are 16 1/2" by 11". The painting dimensions are 10 3/8" by 6 1/2". The painting shows general wear commensurate with age. The mat - a sort of copper-colored shantung silk - also shows some age. The gold wooden frame is actually in very nice condition - and this picture is ready to hang. Please look closely at all photos.
