  • Condition: I am not sure how old this is as it was a gift from a relative who collected silver antiques and other objects. Very fine quality lidded 900 silver box with wooden lining. Extremely fine engraving on every part of the box except the bottom. The box wts. 1 lb. 2 oz.

    Description

    Beautiful 900 silver lidded box with wooden lining.  Fully hand crafted by very talented Egyptian silversmiths.  Etched and engraved with fine patterns.
    Box and all components are in excellent condition.     Hinges are in perfect condition, great accent piece for any decor.
    Intricate pattern and design.
    Stamped by the Egyptian Assay office.  They are very correct and verify all precious metals before they are sold on the market.
    Normal patina from age.
    The box weighs 510.30 grams with some of the wt. coming from the fine wooden lining which I believe is cedar.
    6.75" wide x 4.5" deep x 1.5" high.
    I am not sure of the age but I have had this since the 70's.
    Most likely the box was designed and crafted by Saad of Egypt, one of the most famous old/still standing silversmiths in Cairo.
