Persian Silver Ornamental Serving Spoon 10 5/8” Zoroastrian
This is a gorgeous silver spoon filled with Zoroastrian iconography of winged lions, bulls, rams, pillars, etc.
10 5/8” long, and the bowl is 3” wide.
No marks, but tests to be silver. I assume it is the Persian standard of 0.875 fine.
There is some stubborn green discoloration on two of the lions in the bowl.
Weighs 180 grams or 5.8 troy ounces.
This came with a lot of silver items from a family who had connections with the Ayatollah, who apparently gave away pieces of his silver collection to people who helped him in his exile.
