    WW2 1944 War & Navy Department V-MAIL From U.S. Private George McDonald To Female, Miss Betty Jones (Monon, Indiana)
    This item includes four (4) pieces:
    *  2 V-Mail Letters From Private George McDonald to Miss Betty Jones. Each letter measures approximately 4.25" x 5".
    * 2 V-Mail Posted Envelopes. Each Envelope measures approximately 3.75" x 4.75.
    One Letter is dated July 12, 1944. It contains comments about getting paid (), saying he heard Betty had a cold and was working at the creamery, leaving school to be in the military and currently sitting on an island in the Pacific, and asking Betty to write to him more often. It is signed: "Your Pal".
    One Letter is dated September 24, 1944. It contains comments about Betty being "good looking", that he heard from Betty and was glad she had gotten all "A's" in school, that he weighed a "solid" 180, he just got back from a show, and that he couldn't write a long letter.  It is signed: "Love".
    One Envelope is posted July 19, 1944 and one Envelope is posted October 1944.
    CONDITION OF LETTERS:
    Minor edge ware. Corners have minor rounding, creasing and crushing. Soiling/staining is not apparent. There are minor creases and a heavy horizontal fold. Some surface imperfections.
    CONDITION OF ENVELOPES:
    Heavy to severe edge ware with tears and paper loss. - Especially where the Envelopes were opened. Corners have heavy crushing and creasing. Soiling/darkening is moderate. One Envelope has writing from an unknown hand. Overall creases are moderate. Some surface imperfections. Envelopes are in fragile condition.
