    Description

    WWI 1913 British Remington remark dated 1-17 with double stamp "U.S". English Broad Arrow crossed out, TWO U.S. stamps, not just one. Very nice blade, no nicks or sharpening, just some light discoloration. When the US entered WWI we were short of supplies, these were originally English bayonets that were remarked U.S. and issued to our troops. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail to US addresses.
    According to Gary Cunningham's research most U.S. double stamps took place during April/May of 1917 and a few were done in other months. There has been no reason given for the unusual U.S. double stamp, a mystery, if anyone could shed some light on this I would be eager to learn.
